This page covers Invitation to Grieve, the six-week group program run by Avery Collura, based in Colorado. It is written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask me before you enroll: [email protected].
Invitation to Grieve is group grief coaching. I am a grief practitioner and somatic coach, not a therapist, and this program is not therapy, medical care, or crisis support. It works well alongside therapy and does not replace it. If you are in crisis, or grief has stopped you being able to work, eat, or leave the house for a long stretch, you deserve clinical care from someone trained in it, and the application call is partly how we make sure this program is a fit for where you are. If you are in immediate danger, call or text 988 (in the US) or your local emergency number.
Enrollment starts with a written application and a free call with me. Nothing is paid before that call. If we both say yes, the first cohort's price is $1,200, paid by the link or invoice I send you. A payment plan is available; we arrange it on the call. Your place is confirmed when payment (or the first installment) arrives.
If you change your mind up to 24 hours before the first session, tell me and I'll refund you in full, no explanation needed. After that, refunds aren't automatic, because by then the group is set, buddies are paired, and a group of ten to twelve builds on everyone in it. I'd rather you talk to me: if the program isn't serving you, email me and we will sort out what's fair, together. If I ever cancel a cohort, everyone enrolled is refunded in full.
What other people share in the group stays in the group. You may talk about your own experience anywhere you like; you may not share anyone else's story, name, or details outside the room. The group runs on presence, not advice. I teach how, and I hold that line during sessions. If someone repeatedly makes the room unsafe for others, I can remove them from the program, with a refund for the weeks that remain.
I am not bound by clinical confidentiality the way a therapist is, and I hold what you share with care and discretion. The exception: if I believe you or someone else is in serious danger, I may contact emergency services or someone who can help.
Sessions may be recorded, and no recording is promised. When one exists, it stays inside the group: current participants only, never public, never used for anything else. Sharing is not automatic either; a recording goes to the group only when the people in it are comfortable with that. If you'd rather a session not be recorded, or not be shared after it was, say so, before, during, or long after the program. You won't need a reason. A no is enough.
The two audio series included with the program (Meet Your Grief and The Science of Grief) are yours to keep for personal use. Please don't redistribute, resell, or share the files or your login; the work is how I make my living. The same goes for session recordings: they belong to the group, and they don't leave it.
You choose what to engage with. Every practice in this program is an invitation, and passing is always allowed. You are responsible for your own wellbeing and decisions, including the decision to seek clinical care. To the fullest extent Colorado law allows, my liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the program.
These terms are governed by Colorado law. If I update them, the date at the top changes, and meaningful changes reach enrolled participants by email before they take effect. If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stand.
Questions about any of this? Write to me. A real person, me, will answer: [email protected].
